We brought Dixi in when she was about seven or eight weeks old. She was an outside kitten who was constantly being terrorized by two dogs we used to have outside.

Dixi was full of energy and spunk right from the get-go. She became fast friends with Hanna since they were about the same age. She taught herself how to open doors and cabinets, how to squeeze into the tiniest openings and she even began to pull pranks. For example, she would do something and we knew she did it, but she would try to pin it on Hanna or one of the other kittens.

Dixi has always been full of fun! She will be two years old this August and will still be the little brat she was when she was a kitten.

These are the 5 kitties that we took in when a friend of ours couldn’t take care of them anymore. Never before have we had such rambunctious kittens! I’m telling you, they organize and plan attacks on the stuff in our house. But they are also very loving.

They love to curl up with us when we sleep, they love to roll around and play with us and they absolutely love to cuddle with us when we watch television. But the most fun thing to watch is when they play soccer. We have 3 dogs inside, and the kittens will run and jump in their food bowls and then when a piece of dog chow flies out, they will knock it around the kitchen and living room as if they’re playing soccer. We definitely love these kitties!

Calli is a 15 year old calico. We found her 2 years ago this November in the Save-A-Lot parking lot. It was late at night when they were about to close when we remembered we had forgotten a couple of things.

When we got there, I made out the list in the car and when I got out, this beautiful cat came running up to me. I didn’t know what to think. She was very well fed and really sweet. I thought she lived around the area because the store was surrounded by houses. I patted her on the head and went inside.

When I came back out, she was still there. I put the bags in the car and noticed that a questionable couple was picking her up and putting her in the back of their truck and then back on the lot and they did this about 6 times.

They were laughing the whole time. Finally, I called her over to me and I put her in the car. My mom was not happy because we already had about 5 cats, but Calli charm and warmth won her over. Calli is now the biggest and most spoiled cat in the house!

Bandit is a black and white 8 month old kitten and Hemi is solid black and 7 months old. They were both adopted from the the local animal shelter.

Bandit is incredibly outgoing and always finding new ways to get into mischief. He is also the most attention crazed cat we’ve ever had. He will follow us all over the house to see what we are doing to see if he can help.

We also have 5 kittens that we took in after someone was unable to take care of them and Bandit and Hemi became their big brothers. It’s so adorable! Hemi is very spoiled but also pretty skidish.

When we went to the shelter to adopt these two, they stood out immediately. Bandit grabbed our shirts as soon as we walked by and wouldn’t let go and Hemi screamed and screamed. We only adopted Bandit that day. But all night we just laid there and we kept seeing Hemi’s face and hearing him scream and we knew we had to go back and get him.

We were glad we did too. He is a wonderful little boy. They both are. Also, Hemi is madly in love with our cat, Hanna. He follows her around everywhere hoping she’ll like him back. It’s true kitty love!

Bailey and Haili are 2 yr old tabby cats.

Bailey is really spunky and full of energy and always curious, but Haili is very laid back and quite the sleeper.

Haili has several medical conditions. She has heart trouble, teeth trouble, stomach trouble and respiratory trouble. We adopted them from our local animal shelter.

They have been a blast to be around. Haili is really shy and quiet while Bailey runs wide open through the house. They’re awesome!

Amy is my little baby girl. I love all our cats, but of all the indoor cats, Amy and I have a very special bond. I found her and her mother, Mama Cat, one year ago on the side of the road in a cardboard box.

This is Amy also affectionately know as ‘Bunny’

Whenever I’m driving somewhere, I constantly look at the side of the road for suspicious boxes. I am so glad I found that box because it contained two of the sweetest cats. Amy got her nickname, Bunny, after only one month of being in our house. I was talking to her one day when I accidentally called her honey bunches of oats. Shortly after we shortened it to Bunny and it has stuck ever since.

Bunny is incredibly spoiled. She knows that I can never get mad at her and she’s right. She also knows that she has access to my bathroom whenever I go in there to get ready for the day. She’ll run and jump on the counter as soon as I open the bathroom door.

Night is my favorite time when it comes to Bunny because I’ll lay down to go to bed and she’ll run up beside me and either lay next to my chest or she’ll curl up on my pillow and fall fast asleep. She also does the cutest thing when she sleeps…drools. It’s adorable! Yep, my Bunny and me are the best of friends!

Alex and Tiger are both one year old tiger cats and Zip, our gray cat, is also one year old.

I clearly remember the day they were born. My mom and I were outside talking to a landscaper when I looked over at the porch and I saw one of our big dogs going crazy. I walked over and as I got there, our dog Baby, poked her head out with a newborn kitten in her mouth.

Yes, cats do get into the oddest things. This is one of the cutest and most unique spots I’ve seen a cat get into. He seems to be quite happy about where he is. It looks like quite an accomplishment. The expression on his face is priceless. It’s as if he is saying, “Can someone pour me out of here?”

I’ve had cats ever since the early 80’s. My first cat was a beautiful white cat named Casper. Ever since then I’ve always one more cats around. All my cats have been indoor cats and, as much as I love my cats, litter boxes have always been the most disliked part of having an indoor cat.

Living with Litter boxes

There have been lots of dirty litter boxes over the years and they have always been a chore to keep clean. There have been a few attempts to make cleaning the litter box easier but it remains a thankless chore. It’s a messy, smelly job that no one looks forward to.
