Meet Tigier and Dakota, a cat and dog who have lived under the same roof for over six years. They both belong to my brother Doug and his wife Karen. Here is their story about how Tigier and Dakota get along at home after a rough beginning.

“Tigier was seven years old, and the king of the house, the day we brought home a new puppy, Dakota. Tigier was not at all pleased with our new addition and let us know it by swatting at him every time the puppy got in his way.

Dakota’s father is a husky and his mother is half American Staffordshire Terrier and half Pit-Bull. We warned Tigier that “Dakota will be bigger than you one day and he better stop swatting him”. As a puppy, Dakota would cry when Tigier swatted him.

Here is Spooky in a couple of different spots throughout the day. Here he is coming over to say good morning and remind us to feed him. Later on in the day we found on the kitchen chair hiding out under the table keeping nice and toasty in the Sun. Is he half asleep or half awake? How would an optimist see this little scenario?

It is Valentines Day; the day we spend time with loved ones. Spooky’s first love is the Sun. Happy Valentines Day Sun, thanks for keeping me warm during all those afternoon cat naps. I can feel your love every time I sleep in your warming rays. Dax can too.

It has been a mild February and the Cats are very lackadaisical and thinking that it must be summer by now. Dax is walking around looking like a lost Cat. Looks like he is gonna follow us around for some mutual company until he gets his second wind.

Spooky is hanging out in the kitchen this morning with a glum look on his face. He’ll cheer up soon once the sun beam gets over to his matt. Enjoy these pictures of Spooky in his morning mood. Maybe Spooky isn’t much of a morning cat. What Cat is, huh? That’s what happens when you’re up most of the night chasing the other cats around the house.

We went on a three day get-away recently to the Great Wolf Lodge near Niagara Falls. We had been a few times before and always had a great time with the kids. This time was no different and I think they actually added a few more things to do. The best part is the indoor water park. If you haven’t been and you like water parks it’s worth going. One of the memorable and unique surprises was a visit from a friendly Cat.

Let’s welcome this adorable little creature to the world. This is Ava-gaborski. She 3 days old and extremely cute. Tiny too. Our reader, Deborah, tells us more about Ava:

“Here a couple of pictures that I took of miss ava-gaborski. She was one of my foster kittens (I do volunteer work the l.a. county shelter in downey). She was about 3 days old here. I also cropped this one down so that it is just my husbands hands and her.
One of the best parts of fostering kittens/puppies is that you get to name them!”

This is Bob. He has a bit of a strong personality, but what cat doesn’t. His owner, Deborah, tells us he a lovable Cat and that is whats important for any relationship between Cat and human.

Here is what Deborah told us about Bob:
“For the holidays this past year I made up photo greeting cards with the caption “Bob. Humbug! Did we really need a new dog?” Bob is a 7-1/2 year old grey tabby with plenty of cat-i-tude. And I couldn’t love him more if I tried.”

Meet Lohla. A beautiful Nebelung Cat who has a unique way of doing things. Our reader, Whitnie sent these fun pictures of her Cat Lohla in to us. Here is what Whitnie told us about Lohla:
“My 3 year old Nebelung, Lohla. I adopted Lohla 2 years ago from a shelter near by. She does the funniest things a cat could ever do. She is VERY talkative and Purs 24/7. She is a Gorgeous Nebelung with extreme personality! I Love Her!”
