The Animal Consciousness Foundation says China wants to kill cats to look good for the Olympics. Animal welfare groups are protesting the animal death camps for cats on the edge of the city in Beijing. Cats are being left to die in one of the most inhuman acts I’ve ever heard of. People are killing cats in the street from fear of a government campaign warning of the diseases cats carry. Cat are being hauled off in cages to meat markets.

How can something like this be happening in our day and age? Hearing about all those poor cats being killed in such inhumane ways is unbelievably unsettling. These cats have just as much right to live as any other creature on this planet. These disgusting acts are incomprehensible! This has to stop. Voice your outrage.

I’m watching you guys.

It’s truly amazing the overwhelming amount of attention a kitten receives from the front window of a pet store. Any kitten or kittens will have little trouble having an endless flow of admirers and potentials owners coming to visit them to oooh and aawwe and literally swoon over.

My son and I where at the mall the other day and couldn’t resist visiting the new kittens in the pet store window. They were just oozing with ‘cuteness’ and most people, including us, wanted to get one right away.

Jade had another trip to the vets for a follow-up visit. This time she had to stay overnight for observation and then go for x-rays in the morning. She wasn’t very happy going in the first place and staying overnight was probably the last thing she wanted.

We found out that she has a stone in each of here kidneys. She’ll have them for the rest of her life unless we remove them with surgery. The surgery cost a small fortune so the vet has recommended we slowly introduce her to a wet food diet to help her breakdown the stones or at least keep them from getting any bigger.

We may have to start a fund for Jade if surgery becomes her only option. We’re hoping she does well with her new diet and we have no more worries.

Poor Jade. She was happy to be home, needless to say, but she’s been yelling at us for the past few days for putting her through all that. She’s been getting some extra attention to help her feel better and yesterday she stepped outside to enjoy some beautiful sunny weather. Oh, and she love her new food!
