The Litter house - A hidden litter box for your cat

We recently got a new LitterHouse for our cats to help us deal with some ongoing litterbox problems and thought we would share our experience with this new type of litter box with you. We’ll begin with an overview of the litterhouse itself and follow with our initial impressions. After that we will tell you how our Cats did with their new litterhouse.

Finally we’ll provide you with some history and key features of the litterhouse. We’ll also see just how well the litterhouse lives up to its claims and if it’s something to consider for your cats.

Introducing the Litter House

The Cat Litterhouse is an enclosed cat litter box made entirely of sturdy plastic. There are three main parts, the house which acts as the lid, an easy to clean side tray and the main litter tray.

Building a house for your cat – assembling the Litterhouse!

Posted by admin on Sep 22 2008 | cat litter box

The litterhouse is a covered litter box that just came out on the market a few months ago. Setting it up is literally a snap. All the pieces easily snap together. If you’re thinking of getting a litterhouse, here’s a series of photo’s showing you just how quickly we were able to put our Litterhouse together.

There’s also a full product review you can read and more details and ordering information on the Litterhouse website.

The litterhouse comes with easy to follow instruction to help you put it together in very little time. It took us around 15 to 20 minutes to assemble our litterhouse from opening the box to having it ready for the cats to use. Make sure to ask someone to help you assemble your Litterhouse if you’re not comfortable with assembling it by yourself.

We have three Litterhouses so far for our cats. We put each house together with no trouble at all. The cats really enjoy using them and are done with their old litter trays.

How we took charge of our litter box problems and won!

Posted by admin on Sep 20 2008 | cat litter box

When we moved into our new house a few years ago we decided to keep the litter boxes in the basement. The basement was unfinished and we rarely used it so it was a good spot for the litter boxes.

Unfortunately, since then, we’ve had some serious litter box problems to deal with. There were regular accidents out of the box, for unknown reasons, and entire messes to deal with. With an unfinished basement we didn’t handle the problem as well as we should have so it got terribly out of control. At times it felt like the entire basement was the litter box.

Here are some simple tips to help you prevent and or eliminate any problems you may be having with your cat and their litter box.

  1. Keep your cat healthy. A cat’s health problems can lead to cat litter box problems.
  2. Place your cat litter box in a quite area. Cats don’t like loud noises at anytime, especially when using their litter box. Be sure not too hide it away were you’ll forget about it. Make sure you keep it in a visible spot where you’ll remember to clean it regularly.

When is the last time you felt good about your cat’s litter box?

Posted by admin on Jul 10 2008 | cat litter box

I’ve had cats ever since the early 80’s. My first cat was a beautiful white cat named Casper. Ever since then I’ve always one more cats around. All my cats have been indoor cats and, as much as I love my cats, litter boxes have always been the most disliked part of having an indoor cat.

Living with Litter boxes

There have been lots of dirty litter boxes over the years and they have always been a chore to keep clean. There have been a few attempts to make cleaning the litter box easier but it remains a thankless chore. It’s a messy, smelly job that no one looks forward to.

Goodbye Litter Box. Hello LitterHouse!

Posted by admin on Jun 23 2008 | Pictures of cats, cat litter box

Our new Litterhouse has arrived! Time to say goodbye to the cat litter box. We’re very excited for Spooky, Dax, Jasmine and Jade and have started using it right away. It got here sooner than we expected which was a nice surprise.

Here is our new litterhouse in the living room.

We’re still deciding on the best spot for it. For now we’ve put it in the same spot as the old cat litter box since they’re used to that area and it will be the least confusing for them.

We’ve taken a few pictures already. We’ll have a full review and lots more pictures in the coming days as the cats get used to their new home.

Here’s a Purr-fect way to hide your Cat Litter Box

Posted by admin on Jun 20 2008 | Pictures of cats, cat litter box

We’ve been spending our time recently looking for a way to deal with our cat litter box problem. With so many cat litter boxes on the market, it’s difficult to find the right solution. We were about to give up and stick with what we had until we came across the LitterHouse. After reading more about it we thought that this was the litter box for us, er, I mean the Band of Cats.

We are quite excited about the litterhouse and wanted to share our exciting discovery in case others were having the same litter box dilemma we were. It’s a hidden litter box, which was one of the features we were looking for and the cat litter cover is a house! Very Cool! Plus it keeps the litter from spreading and deals well with cat litter smells too. If you have cat litter problems you’re trying to fix this is something worth looking at.

Here’s a short video showing how easy and quick it is to clean the litterhouse.

You’ll find more info on the litterhouse website. Go to www.litterhouse.com and check it out for yourself. If your looking for a unique and practical litter box this is it; in our humble opinion.

Once our Litterhouse arrives we’ll have more info and pictures to share. We plan to have a full review after Spooky, Dax, Jasmine and Jade have had some time to get used to their new home!

If there is anyone out there who has one of these please tell us what you think in the comments. If you don’t have one yet go and get a Litterhouse now!
