The two cats in question are none other than Dax and Jasmine. Both of these cats are fine on their own but when they get together they usually have something to argue about. It’s hard to know what will happen when they get together.

This time I was caught right in the middle of another impending conflict. Not a good spot to be in with these unpredictable two. (I’m actually glad Jade wasn’t a part of this.) Anyway, there I was as Jasmine approached from the family room and Dax was on his way up the stairs. They were headed right for each other!

I was poised and ready with my camera and was tempted to say something like “Look out Dax” or “Jasmine, incoming at 9 o’clock!” But I didn’t say a word, stood my ground and watched to see what would happen.

I was surprised at what came next.

Here comes Jasmine innocently approaching from the family room and headed right for Dax.

Jasmine has rolled before. Now she’s doing it again. It’s what she does all the time and she loves doing it. It probably won’t be her last time either.

Here is Jasmine rolling again. Her drop and roll has become her trademark move. It’s the cutest darn thing too! You can’t help but love it.

This time she decided to get her tail in on the act. “Silly tail, getting in the way of my rolling!” “I’ll teach you”, says Jasmine.

Its great watching Jasmine roll around and seeing all the different antics she gets into. She’s in a very playful, happy mood when she’s rolling.

Here Jasmine hams it up even more for the camera with carpet rubs, stretches and more of her unique cuteness. Of course our little princess cat loved all the attention.

There’s also a little surprise after the pictures, or should I say my attempt at poetry that was largely influenced by the fine writings of Dr. Suess (from countless bedtime readings) and inspired by Poetikat’s wonderful poems.

I took these fun pictures of Jade getting boxed in while I was straightening up things in the family room after a very action-packed and fun Christmas week.

I was almost done with a few items left to put away including the box for a toy guitar. By the time I got to the box there was something else in it. Jade! I shouldn’t be so surprised all the time this happens, but I was.

Jade is always the first to appear in any empty box we leave sitting around. She just loves them. This was another hit and a perfect fit with a shape she had never seen before. This box was unlike any of the others she had seen. Jade could actually stretch out in this one.

Most of the boxes Jade gets into are just too small for even her. Somehow she manages to contort herself enough to fit in. Not this time. There was room to move in this one. Was this her dream box? Was her quest over? It sure seemed that way.

Jade got the box and I put the toy Guitar in a soft case. She looked too content to disturb her and, after all, it was Christmas.

This is a fun sequence of photos I took of Jasmine as she spent the afternoon sleeping on the kitchen rug. It’s probably the longest series of images I’ve ever taken of the cats so I’ve had to do this post in a few parts.

Jasmine has a thing for boots and shoes. She loves them. Needless to say she plopped herself down on the kitchen rug right between my grubby shoes and my son’s winter boots.

Jasmine looked extremely comfortable and snuggled right in. In addition to the shoes the sun was streaming in through the back door creating the quintessential spot for Jasmine to lounge the afternoon away.

I only planned to take a few images, but Jasmine really hammed it up for the camera so much I kept shooting while she kept offering little meows and rolling around on the rug stretching and being all cute ‘n stuff.

Enjoy the pictures. Jasmine certainly enjoyed having them taken.

This is Ladybug. She’s going to her new home today but she got to go to work first. She wasn’t interested in doing any work though. Luckily she was just a little kitten and could pick a small spot to nap where she wouldn’t be seen by her department manager.
