Strange things are happening around here again with the cats. It’s most peculiar but all in good Halloween fun. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Halloween season. Hmmm… It all seems too coincidental to me. Oh, and the same oddities happened last year at this time as well.

Maybe the cats are used as a portal by some kind of a paranormal energy. They may be a channel by which the ghastly, unknown spirits of ghouls and goblins are able to enter through into our world.

Who knows? It’s scary stuff anyway and just in time for Halloween. These freaky occurrences happened during the last few days leading up to Halloween. Take a look…if you dare. Ooooooh.

We’ve recently been having the good fortune of running into some friendly neighborhood cats while out enjoying the amazing autumn weather. The other weekend I was out for a walk around the neighborhood and this sociable little cat appeared out of nowhere. We made instant friends.

She also had lots to say and was a glutton for attention. She didn’t sit still the entire time she was around us. I was with my son and he was thrilled to see the cat. Our little friend rolled in the dirt, then on the street by the curb, then back on the dirt and grass and finally she was off. She meowed to us first as if to say ‘see ya later’ and dashed into a backyard on the other side of the street.

Fortunately I got some fun pictures to share with our readers. I’m sure we’ll be seeing this fun, little cat again sometime.

Are you planning to dress up your cat for Halloween? Most cats are not interested in a Halloween costume. Personally I think cats look good enough without the need for a costume. We don’t put our cats in costumes for Halloween. Mainly because I don’t think they’re really interested, plus they wouldn’t enjoy it very much.

Some cats are mellow enough to let you dress them up anyway you like. Cats like this are few and far between and I’ve yet to meet a cat that will put up with wearing a costume.

One type of cat with the perfect Halloween costume is the ubiquitous Black Cat. Black Cats have the quintessential Halloween costume without the need for additional accoutrement. If you have a black cat your only problem is to find a costume for yourself that makes you look as good as your cat does.

A portrait of Marie’s Cat, Van Gogh

Marie has sent in another wonderful piece of artwork for everyone to see. This is a portrait of her cat VanGogh which was done a while back. It looks great! Thanks Marie.

Princess lives in the steel city of Hamilton, Ontario. She has the run of the house and loves to lounge around in the basement on her favorite chair. Her chair sits in an out of the way spot but gives her a great view of all the comings and goings downstairs.

Jasmine is our rock and roll cat. This time she’s shaking, rattling and rolling in the sun. She’s all shook-up. She’s twistin’ and turnin’. She is moving and groovin’ this time.

I think it was the effect of the hot sun on her fur. Having someone around to encourage her on helped a bit too! Watch her as she rolls into the ‘cuteness of rock ‘n roll’ record books.

Jasmine, Dax and Spooky decided to sit in a circle while waiting for dinner one night. I guess there’s more strength in numbers. Normally they mull around on their own until dinner is ready. This time they seemed to be more social as if they were having a short cocktail hour before dinner along with a few nuzzles. How sophisticated!

It’s been a while since Jade has conquered a box by thinking outside of the box. With no boxes in sight it looks like she decided to try out a bag instead. She came across a plastic bag on the floor and I guess she figured it was better than nothing.

She walked away from it a few minutes later seeming a bit disappointed that it wasn’t anywhere near as good as a box. Even so, Jade came back a few minutes later to give the bag a second go. Good show Jade! Hopefully there will be a box for you in the near future. Maybe with a bag in it!

We were out for a cool, relaxing walk down by the lake this weekend when we had a nice surprise. A friendly cat came walking toward us. She was going in and out of the long grass beside the path and seemed to be in search of something as most cats are.

She was very friendly and seemed to be in no hurry what so ever; just out for a little afternoon adventure. She spent a few minutes with us to say hello and was off again on her trek. Whatever she was doing she was definitely having fun at it and definitely knew where she was going.
