Meet Tigier and Dakota, a cat and dog who have lived under the same roof for over six years. They both belong to my brother Doug and his wife Karen. Here is their story about how Tigier and Dakota get along at home after a rough beginning.

“Tigier was seven years old, and the king of the house, the day we brought home a new puppy, Dakota. Tigier was not at all pleased with our new addition and let us know it by swatting at him every time the puppy got in his way.

Dakota’s father is a husky and his mother is half American Staffordshire Terrier and half Pit-Bull. We warned Tigier that “Dakota will be bigger than you one day and he better stop swatting him”. As a puppy, Dakota would cry when Tigier swatted him.

We went on a three day get-away recently to the Great Wolf Lodge near Niagara Falls. We had been a few times before and always had a great time with the kids. This time was no different and I think they actually added a few more things to do. The best part is the indoor water park. If you haven’t been and you like water parks it’s worth going. One of the memorable and unique surprises was a visit from a friendly Cat.

Well, another year is behind us and new year ready to pounce on us. Thanks to everyone who took the time to drop by and visit us in 2009. We can’t wait to see you back again for more cat lovin’ fun in 2010.

Introducing Munchkin. We received this fun picture of Munchkin from our reader, Paula, in Seattle. She looks like a fun loving, easy going cat.

Here is what Paula said about Munchkin:
“Munchkin is just chillin’ here. She is 8 years old (approximately) and bottle-fed. I guess that’s why she’s such a baby. Munchkin was born in Dallas, Texas with a Russian dad and a domestic mother. She now lives in Seattle, WA.”

“Have a Holly, Jolly Christmas, it’s the best time of the year” are the words I remember every Christmas. They were sung by Berl Ives, one of my favorite holiday singers.

We would like to wish all of you a Holly, Jolly, Happy and Safe Holiday Season and a very Happy New Year. We hope the spirit of the season will bring you much joy followed by an even better New Year.

To help with the holly and jolly part, we’re celebrating this festive time of year with cute kittens and funny cats ready for some Christmas fun. Spooky was a cute and funny Kitten. He was a very curious, adventurous little kitten and loved playing with the other cats. We recently found Spooky’s old kitten pictures in some old boxes. It was a great find. They were taken long before digital cameras were around. With the help of our trusty scanner we got them on the computer for everyone to see.

Spooky was definitely one cute kitten. It was amazing seeing his kitten pictures again after so many years. We hope you enjoy seeing our Spooky as a funny, cute little kitten. It certainly brought back some wonderful memories for us.

Here is a wonderful Cat from our reader, Lynn. It always nice to see a happy cat with lot’s of room to roam. Here is what Lynn had to tell us about her Cat.

Little One, a 13 year old Cat who is part Siamese, sitting on a hay bale.

“This is my cat Little One. He loves it on our farm. He is sitting by a hay bale this summer. He is a male who is part Siamese. Little One is quite the character. He loves to walk with me out in our fields. Although he is 13 years old he doesn’t act like it. Little One lives in upstate NY. He’s my baby. He knows what the words “cheese” is and “no” mean, but don’t say “ears” around him because he knows he is going to have his ears cleaned”

You may have seen these cats before but this was the first time we saw these big cats. On a visit to Centre Island in Toronto we rode the wonderful Carousel in the park which had all sorts of great animals to ride on including giraffes, rabbits, ostriches, horses and three big cats with golden fish in their mouths.
