This handsome cat, Smokey, was brought to us today (July 31, 2008) by a friend who could not longer take care of him. We have taken in several cats and kittens from our friend, and they have been a blessing!

They have made this house a joy to live in! Smokey is still very scared of us and it is taking some time to get him to come around, but he’ll get there. Our friend says that he loves to cuddle! He will jump in your lap and wrap his arms around you and pull you closer to him. He is such a sweet boy and fun to watch while he explores his new surroundings. He’s going to be a lot of fun to grow older with.

Bodie & Rascal are the newest kittens in our family. In fact, these kittens just arrived here today (July 28, 2008). A friend of ours found them in a ditch near her house and she wasn’t going to be able to take care of them.

As best we can guess, they are around three weeks old. We named the little orange boy Rascal and the little brown, black and white boy Bodie. They are fussy little kittens! They love to cuddle with our other kittens Felix and Fiona (two other orphans that were born at our home) and they love getting kisses from myself and my mom.

We love taking in orphan kittens because it really gives us the chance to bond with them and the feeling of raising them and seeing them learn, play and develop. It’s just amazing! I can’t wait to grow up with these guys!!

This is our lovely white Cat, Charlie. My mother picked Charlie out of an entire pet store full of kittens. The other kittens looked healthier than my Mom’s kitten. Mom’s decision was based purely on “I want a white kitten” which drove me crazy, because I picked based on research, health and vitality.

After five years I think Mom was onto something. Max the tiger tabby, is now almost nineteen pounds. Our vet says Max is obese! Charlie’s weight is perfect at seven or eight pounds with no fat and all muscle.

This is Jojo and Max. We bought Max and his pure white sister, Charlie, on the same day. We got them for my ailing Mother back in July, 2003. Their birthdays are June 1, 2003. The following autumn my mother passed away, so Max and Charlie came home with us.

My husband and I already had three older “original” cats and Max and Charlie made five. Then we took in Van Gogh, he made six cats. Five years later little Jojo made seven!

Max and Jojo began to play together within a day or two of us finding Jojo. We found him outside in the ditch. We thought he was a stray so I sent a photo of Jojo to all of our neighbor’s homes but no one came to collect him.

These are our new three week old kittens. Their names are Felix, Fiona and Misty. Unfortunately Misty was born with some complications and we could not nurse Misty back to health. She passed away on July 25th, 2008.

I have a picture of Misty and we would love to tell you all about her. We take in several strays and many of them turn out to be pregnant. Rather than scare them off, we nurture them and anxiously await the arrival of their kittens.

We miss you Misty.

My goodness, what can I say about Thomas? Actually, what can I NOT say about Thomas? He is a three month old little terror. He isn’t the youngest, but he is the fourth youngest kitten in the house and he acts like he’s the king of the jungle.

Peaches is the two year old mama of the five kittens. She is such a sweetheart! We have nineteen cats and there is only a select few that are really compassionate and loving. Peaches makes that list!

She has got to have attention. She will run across my laptop just to get us to pet her. She’ll climb on us when she wants some loving or she’ll just meow until we are driven crazy and give in.
