Most afternoons Dax takes his naps at the top of the stairs that leads into our bedroom. I guess you could say it’s one of his favorite spots to take a snooze.
Well, one day I decided to go up to get some pictures of Dax while he was napping in his favorite spot. As I was taking some photos, I got this neat sequence of him yawning just as he was waking up. I call it Dax’s Big Yawn. The look on his face in the last picture is just priceless.

Now that’s a really Big Yawn. Oh Ya. It’s a Big one alright!
This look cracks me up. I don’t think Dax is fully awake yet.

I think Dax was not amused at having photos taken while he mastered the yawn. Very adorable. Glad I found you!

yip i love cats this is just another priceless reason to have a cat!!! unfortunatly i cant have a cat now, i had my cat for 9 yrs before i became allergic to her(because of my asthma) BUT i still let her sleep wherever she wanted! face, chest , stomach! she was my fudgeywuge!! ( her name was fuge she was my soul mate) i miss her xxxxx

That’s hysterical! I have 9 “kids” myself, and get to see that a lot. But Dax looks a bit high, in the last one.

this is a beautiful cat with a beautiful set of teeth, not to mention a BIG mouth, my cat has a nice yawn but his mouth is not that big, a great set of photos, nice shooting.
what camera do you use?

Thanks. Dax is a big cat and he does have a big yawn. Most of our cats do as a matter if fact. I use a Nikon D70 for all our pictures. I hope to upgrade to a newer model next year, but for now this is still a great camera.
