These are our new three week old kittens. Their names are Felix, Fiona and Misty. Unfortunately Misty was born with some complications and we could not nurse Misty back to health. She passed away on July 25th, 2008.
I have a picture of Misty and we would love to tell you all about her. We take in several strays and many of them turn out to be pregnant. Rather than scare them off, we nurture them and anxiously await the arrival of their kittens.
We miss you Misty.
Another kitten that was born here, Faith, recently had three baby kittens. Two of the kittens were black kittens, Felix and Fiona and one was a gray kitten, Misty. Shortly after they were born we began to notice that Faith did not have a whole lot of milk and wasn’t really the mother type.
To help the kittens, we decided to bring them inside and raise them ourselves. Of course, we were no strangers to orphan kitties. We had taken care of many kitten before with great success. We bought some formula and syringes. We discovered that syringes are easier than bottles when nursing small kittens.
We were unable to help Misty. Her back legs were deformed and she became overwhelmed with worms despite our de-worming efforts. This past Friday was a very sad morning for us and her siblings. Misty was so sweet and loving and always loved to be cuddled and rocked to sleep. We buried her in the back yard and said our goodbyes. We miss her so much! *RIP Misty*
Our new kitten, Fiona.
Our new kitten, Felix.
Misty left behind two amazing twins! Felix and Fiona are pistol balls. Constantly screaming to be held and played with. They can never get enough to eat and they love to paw at out faces. These are definitely two kittens that are going to keep us on our toes for a long time!
