A portrait of Marie\'s very first cat, Frosty, 1992 to 2001
A portrait of Marie’s very first cat, Frosty, 1992 to 2001

Sadly Frosty passed away due to kidney problems in 2001 but I’m sure he was a fantastic cat and lived a very happy life. Here’s what Marie had to tell us about Frosty… “This is the very first cat whom I “owned” after I left my parents house (cats own humans, a human cannot really own a cat). He was pure black with copper eyes. His name was Frosty.

I found him during a snow storm, on my doorstep. He was about 4 months old.
He lived from 1992 to 2001. He passed away right after my husband and I got married. At that time we had five cats between us. We still have three originals to this day who are all over thirteen, besides Jo, Van Gogh, Max and Charlie, they are all under six.”

Thanks for the artwork and story Marie!

A Portrait of Max the Cat

Max by Marie Reid Spring 2008

Here is a wonderful drawing sent in by one of our readers, Marie. It’s of her cat, Max. Were very glad Marie decided to send this to us. Here is what she had to say… “This my best cat drawing ever. I’m very proud of it. I love to draw animals, especially my cats. I just got a new scanner, so I thought I would scan the drawing and send it to Band of cats to share with everyone.”
Thanks Marie!
