Pictures of Cats from Our Readers - Lilly

Lilly on the stove.
Lilly on the stove.

My cat Lilly was born on March 4, 2008. She lives in the Southern Maine part of the United States. She’s a lean, spunky cat who like to play GOTCHA! You never know when she’ll be hiding around a corner ready to attack you!

Although feisty, Lilly is extremely gentile. She’s pretty sure of herself most of the time. She can be very mellow too and she can be moved into almost any position. She hates being home alone and will gladly go along for a ride with me in the car to do errands.

She likes it when I park in the “dumpster section” of the parking lots where there are lots of seagulls to watch and chatter at. Her favorite place to perch is on my shoulder, and she will stay there for just about as long as I let her. I have often made my breakfast, brushed my teeth and/or put on my makeup with her perched there.

Lilly also loves to sleep on top of the stove while it is still warm. She’s a very demanding (pick-me-up) kind of kitty. She sleeps on my neck. She’s a wonderful, spoiled rotten cat! Lilly also has about 35 photos on catbook and can be viewed on catbook profile view (5206068).

Building a house for your cat – assembling the Litterhouse!

The litterhouse is a covered litter box that just came out on the market a few months ago. Setting it up is literally a snap. All the pieces easily snap together. If you’re thinking of getting a litterhouse, here’s a series of photo’s showing you just how quickly we were able to put our Litterhouse together.

There’s also a full product review you can read and more details and ordering information on the Litterhouse website.

The litterhouse comes with easy to follow instruction to help you put it together in very little time. It took us around 15 to 20 minutes to assemble our litterhouse from opening the box to having it ready for the cats to use. Make sure to ask someone to help you assemble your Litterhouse if you’re not comfortable with assembling it by yourself.

We have three Litterhouses so far for our cats. We put each house together with no trouble at all. The cats really enjoy using them and are done with their old litter trays.

Pictures of Cats from Our Readers - Van Gogh and Jojo

My husband and I have 7 cats now. Shown here below is Van Gogh. He has one eye and is six years old. He is very full of mischief. We got him when he was about one year old. He required an operation to have his eye socket cleaned up and permanently closed. It was remnants of a damaged eye, which didn’t seem to bother him at all, but it looked terrible.

No one could tell us what made it that way. Van Gogh’s previous owner could not afford his surgery, so I gently convinced him to give Van Gogh to me as was able to afford to help Van Gogh.

One must have a little money to keep these cats. They require annual medicals with vaccinations, emergencies, money for the best food, care, and toys. Lets not forget their toys for entertainment!

Van Gogh is and always was…a NUT! Having him around is like having a raccoon or a ferret. He gets into everything. He is very curious and mischievous. My younger cats liked him right away.

Pictures of Cats from our Readers - Smokey

This handsome cat, Smokey, was brought to us today (July 31, 2008) by a friend who could not longer take care of him. We have taken in several cats and kittens from our friend, and they have been a blessing!

Our latest addition, Smokey

They have made this house a joy to live in! Smokey is still very scared of us and it is taking some time to get him to come around, but he’ll get there. Our friend says that he loves to cuddle! He will jump in your lap and wrap his arms around you and pull you closer to him. He is such a sweet boy and fun to watch while he explores his new surroundings. He’s going to be a lot of fun to grow older with.
