Dax loves to play. He can not resist the opportunity to chase, stalk, pounce or swipe at anything that is waved in front of him. It’s in his blood. He is simply one of the most playful cats I have ever seen.
One evening I had my measuring tape out to size up a few things and as I rolled the tape back into the case it slid along the floor. Well Dax was all over it in seconds. Suddenly it was playtime!
That was fine with me. A measuring tape is as good as any other toy, so here is Dax getting his play ‘fix’ with the measuring tape.
Mental preparation is the main differentiator of a master player.
Dax strategically uses light swipes to conserve energy while keeping a keen focus.
Dax is getting into full play mode.
Here comes a clean follow-through on the swipe…
…and a perfectly executed grab.
And he’s done it again!
There’s no stopping him now!
Now Dax is stalking the measuring tape… let’s see how he does.
A perfect pounce! He’s done it again.
Dax now decides to stalk the measuring tape from behind the scratch post.
The face of a true champion player. Stalker, swiper, and pouncer.
Dax watches intently. What focus. What concentration.
Dax is deciding what to do next while staying focused on the measuring tape.
Oh no! Scrambled thoughts.
Dax starts showing some signs of nervousness.
Back into a stalking position.
Something spooked Dax after this point and play mode stopped abruptly. Until next time.
