We came across this great do it yourself project for making your own recyclable cat scratch pad. Instead of throwing away all that cardboard you collect from time to time (especially over the holiday season), save it up and try your hand at this cat craft. It looks pretty simple, quick and doesn’t need any special tools.
If you don’t want to wait until the cardboard comes your way, you can always pay a visit to your local grocery store or liquor store since they always seem to be overflowing with it.
I really like the idea of adding a piece to the bottom so you can fill it with catnip withou it spilling out the bottom. As soon as we get enough cardboard around here I plan to make a few of these for Dax, Spooky and Jade. They are all big scratchers and I know they will love having a few around as an alternative to their big scratch posts.
