New fun images for our pictures of Cats. Meet Alex and Tiger. They are both one year old tiger cats and Zip, our gray cat, is also one year old.
Our Cat Zip
I clearly remember the day they were born. My mom and I were outside talking to a landscaper when I looked over at the porch and I saw one of our big dogs going crazy. I walked over and as I got there, our dog Baby, poked her head out with a newborn kitten in her mouth.
I grabbed the scruff of her neck and gave her a shake until she dropped the kitten. Luckily, he fell onto a pile of leaves. To avoid Baby from getting to him again, or Mia’s other babies, I got one of our pet taxis and I put Mia and the kitten, which we named Alex, into it.
That night she had 2 more kittens; Tiger and Zip. We moved the taxi into the bed of our Ford truck, put a tarp over the truck to protect them from rain, and put a couple of blankets over the taxi to keep them warm. I also put a thick fleece jacket inside the taxi to keep Mia and her babies nice and snug.
Our cat Alex
Over the next several months I watched all three boys grow up. It was the first time we were able to see any of the outside kittens grow day by day. When Alex was about 5 months old, we developed a very close bond. Each day I went out to feed him I would sit on the porch and he would curl up in my lap and go to sleep while I talking to him. It was like he really took in every word I said.
It also wasn’t long before he became a “ladies man.” We had some other girls outside and they all flocked to Alex because he was so sweet and the gentleman of the 3 boys. Alex is now a big fluffy man and still a little sweetheart.
Our Cat Zip
Our Cat Tiger
Zip and Tiger are sort of the tough guy loners of the three. They really keep to themselves and each of them compete to be king of the yard.
